Prevention without Borders.

KARIS through it’s the thematic focused in Prevention Without Borders, identifies and combats the multiple causes of teen’s alcohol/drug abuse in the communities. Prevention Without Borders works with individuals, families, communities, groups, states, and society on substance use prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for substance use disorders and provides continuum care for persons and families in recovery post treatment and rehabilitation.

 We offer in-school health educational programs to increase awareness on hazards caused by early onset drinking and alcohol/drug abuse and addiction, and its negative consequences. In our programs for students, we have incorporated easy screening, brief intervention, counseling, and referral. We are committed to supporting and enabling students meet with their developmental goals. As a CSO, KARIS is creating great impacts amongst government and non-governmental organizations in the areas of prevention of underaged substance use.

KARIS Safe Space 

The Safe Space Unit in KARIS is the prevention of trafficking human beings and protection of victims/survivor centered Unit.

Prevention of Trafficking in Person

 The Safe Space Unit in KARIS is the prevention of trafficking in persons and protection of victims/survivors centered Unit. Safe Space creates awareness, educate the public on the dangers and harms caused by the human trafficking, especially women and children, who are exploited through sexual exploitation and child labour.

Advocacy and Awareness on TIP

Safe Space advocates for the wellbeing of victims/survivors of human trafficking, it ensures victims/survivors medical and psychosocial needs are made available and accessible, which would boost their functionalities and psychological adjustment in the society, post the experience.


Gender and Development

The response to gender bias, stereotypes, and perceived social construction of gender.  GAD addresses the transformation of unequal power relations between men and women is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable improvements in women’s lives. The onus is on women and men to address and re-shape the problematic aspects of gender relations. The conceptual shift from “women” to “gender” created an opportunity to include a focus on men and boys.
